Deepika Padukone Joins Singham Universe

Singham franchise starring Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty is one of the most successful films in Bollywood. The first part Singham which was released in 2011 was an official remake of Suriya starrer Tamil Singam. Kajal Agarwal was seen opposite Ajay Devgn in this blockbuster. The second part in Singham series was released in 2014 it is an original story. Kareena Kapoor is played as female lead with Ajay Devgn which went on becoming biggest blockbuster. The massive success and impact created by these two films has made Singham a brand in Hindi. 

It has been announced that the third part in the series, Singham Again will be made. Today an important update regarding the third installment of Singham franchise is out. Director Rohit Shetty announced that star heroine Deepika Padukone will be his Lady Singham in upcoming Singham Again. She is the female lead pairing up with Ajay Devgn in the film. Rohit Shetty and Deepika Padukone worked together for Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express in 2013. Deepika also did a special number in her husband Ranveer Singh's film Cirkus directed by Rohit Shetty which is slated to release this Christmas. 

It is during the release of Deepika's song in Cirkus titled Current Laga, Rohit Shetty has announced Deepika Padukone's casting  in Singham Again. Cirkus is based on William Shakespeare's classic play The Comedy of Errors. The film revolves around two sets of identical twins, who were accidentally separated at birth. The film is slated to release on December 23.
