Indians are crazy about cricket and cinema and they cannot live without any of them. Cricket crazy nation is always getting disappointed with the lackluster performances of the men in blue. They got knocked out to be the T-20 World Cup and only yesterday they faced a shock defeat at the hands of cricket minnows Bangladesh.

In the midst of all this, Sandalwood actor Chetan Kumar Ahimsa shocked all demanding reservations in the Indian cricket team. Sharing this thought he said “In Indian cricket, 70 percent of the players are from upper castes. If the reservation is implemented in cricket as well, the team’s performance will be better,”  He went on to add “Most of the players playing in the Indian cricket team are from upper castes. We need to see what is happening with the South African cricket team. The South African cricket board has made it mandatory to have a certain number of non-white players to be in their national team. In India, everyone knows how much money is involved in cricket and the influence of the media on it. If the Indian cricket team needs to perform well, reservation is also necessary. Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) reservations must be brought in for better performance.”

Earlier, the same actor came with controversial comments on Kantara. He said the Bhoota Kala highlighted in the blockbuster film Kantara is not a practice of Hinduism. This resulted in numerous FIRs filed against him. He said  “Glad our Kannada film ‘Kantara’ is making waves on a national level. Director Rishabh Shetty claims Bhoota Kola is ‘Hindu culture. False. Our Pambada/Nalike/Parawa’s Bahujan traditions predate Vedic-Brahminical Hinduism. We ask that Moolnivasi cultures be shown w/truth on & off screen. (sic)." He went on to add “It is wrong to say that ‘Bhoota Kola’ is part of the Hindu religion. Adivasis practice the ritual and there is no ‘Brahminism’ in Bhoota Kola. Don’t say Hindu in the movie. It is the culture of the Adivasis. It is unfair to put Adivasi culture in the column of Hindu religion.”
