It’s very rare in a Telugu film that the hero’s sister role gets the same popularity as the male and the female leads. Vasuki enjoyed that unique distinction with the Pawan Kalyan-Keerthi Reddy starrer Tholi Prema, which also happened to be her debut feature film (after a six-year stint on television). It’s a well-known fact that she bid goodbye to her career despite the successful start and married art director Anand Sai, busy raising her two children. Vasuki recently revealed in an interview that a film comeback may be on the cards.
“Both my children Sandeep and Harshitha are grown up now, who have a life of their own and can take care of themselves. My job as a mother is never-ending but with my kids busy in their lives, I have got more time for myself and I wouldn’t mind dedicating that time to films. I’d rather use that time constructively and opt for roles that match my sensibilities,” she told.
Vasuki hasn’t lost any bit of charm she possessed in the 90s and has matured with grace. She’s always had good screen presence and spontaneity even during her brief stint with the visual medium. Given the demand for new combinations, unconventional casting across web series and films, there’s a good chance we may see Vasuki doing a flurry of projects.
