ANR Says Excited And Honored

Handsome hero Sumanth finally made the news official that, he is part of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s most prestigious project- NTR biopic titled NTR. “Excited and honored to be joining this team, portraying my grandfather #ANR in this prestigious venture. #NTR,” tweeted Sumanth.

Both Sumanth and Naga Chaitanya were considered to play ANR in NTR biopic. However, makers felt Sumanth who resembles his grandfather in appearance is right choice for the role.

Legendary actors NTR and ANR are two pillars of Telugu cinema. They even acted together in few super hit films. While NTR had chosen to do films which will appeal to mass audience, ANR was prime choice for filmmakers for class and pure family entertainers. Apparently, Sumanth who will play his grandfather ANR will have good screen time. He will soon join the unit.

Vidya Balan who will play Basavatarakam, NTR’s wife has already joined the shoot. Sachin Khedkar will be seen as Nadendla Bhaskara Rao and Kaikala Satyanarayana essays veteran filmmaker HM Reddy. The makers are in talks with few prominent actors to play important roles.

The biopic is bankrolled by Balakrishna along with Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri. The makers are planning to release the film for Sankranthi, 2019.
