Vijay Mallya Arrested, Deport To India!

Liquor baron Vijay Mallya is arrested by Scotland Yard Police in London on Tuesday early morning, say International news agencies. 61 year old Mallya allegedly involved in financial irregularities in India has been a subject of an extradition request from.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) have been on a hunt to catch this absconding man and he would be appearing before Westminster magistrate court at a later hour. 

Owing more than Rs.9000 Crores to Indian banks, Mallya is hiding in London to escape from the charges of loan defaulter. Somehow, UK officials have agreed to India’s request for Mallya’s extradition few weeks back and a warrant to handover Mallya for Indian officials can be expected soon as per external affairs ministry spokesperson Gopal Baglay.

Very recently, Mallya’s iconic sea front Kingfisher villa in Goa was auctioned and bought by actor-businessman Sachiin Joshi for Rs.73 Crores. This lavish party launch pad villa was legally owned by United Breweries Holdings, the parent company for Kingfisher Airlines.
