The subject of theater monopoly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states strongly held in hands of few big heads is bought back into focus with argument clashes in locking ‘Bruce Lee, Rudhramadevi’ release dates. Though ‘Bruce Lee’ had its schedule planned and hitting the screens on their announced date, piteous Gunasekhar had his own share of release troubles with ‘Rudhramadevi’ only forwarded a pleasing request to ‘Bruce Lee’ makers on checking their probability for postponement.
Meanwhile, trade sources are commenting in a different tone. A good film always enjoys continuous adoration and ‘Rudhramadevi’ being in safe hands of Dil Raju for Nizam region, the movie is obviously to occupy good number of theaters in second week too. ‘Bruce Lee’ and ‘Rudhramadevi’ belong to two contrasting genres. So, final commercial judgment depends only on how audience receives a film.
Instead of falling back on ‘Bruce Lee’ release to be perceived as a reason to cutback ‘Rudhramadevi’ collections, Gunasekhar and team can promote their film with same passion. If viewers find this logical and acceptable, the damage can be substantially contracted. How much will Guna lose with ‘Bruce Lee’ is a deceptive question, none including Gunasekhar can answer.
