Director becomes Criminal in Rape Case

B-town’s top director currently dealing with project of ‘Heroine’ with Kareena Kapoor is to be held on trial for rape case filed by upcoming actress Preeti. He is charged with raping Preeti for nearly five years under the pretext of casting her in his films. Bombay High Court has two days ago rejected the application of Madhur to stay the legal procedures against him. As per the Justice, he will have to face criminal trial for this 2004 case filed by Preeti for Bhandarkar raping her several times between 1999 and 2004.

This could have been treated as a common thing in film industry, had the girl did not go to court. We know young girls swarming popular directors, irrespective of their age and vice versa, but that is no crime unless reported, brought to trial and proved. Crime may be the essential element in films either in Tollywood, Bollywood or any wood. If it is a part in the story, things are fine but if people of industry are involved then the issue runs on the serious track. 

More recently such incidents of crime reported are of Saif Ali Khan, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. While in Tollywood, we have famous shooting case of Balakrishna on producer Bellamkond and an astrologer went slowly invisible. Cases against Mohan Babu and Mahesh Babu were registered for assault has also gone the usual way. For whatever reasons, Pawan Kalyan’s divorce case and Chiranjeevi daughter’s love marriage also attracted huge publicity.
