Srinidhi to Rukmini: Big Films, Bigger Hopes
Kannada actresses are no strangers to Telugu cinema, but finding a place in Tollywood is one thing and becoming a regular choice for filmmakers is another. Srinidhi Shetty, Ashika Ranganath and Rukmini Vasanth have all stepped into Telugu cinema, but their journeys are at different stages.
Srinidhi Shetty, who shot to fame with the KGF franchise, is now gearing up for Aadarsha Kutumbam – House No. 47, starring Venkatesh and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The film, set to release on October 30, gives her another opportunity to reach a wider Telugu audience. Whether she gets more strong roles after this film remains to be seen.
Ashika Ranganath has already appeared in Telugu films such as Amigos and Naa Saami Ranga. She has also been part of Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, while Vishwambhara is among her upcoming Telugu projects. She has had opportunities, but a major success that strengthens her position in Tollywood could make a difference.
Rukmini Vasanth, meanwhile, has a major project on the way with Jr NTR in Prashanth Neel's Dragon. After gaining attention through Kannada films such as Sapta Sagaradaache Ello and Kantara: Chapter 1, she now has a chance to reach a much bigger Telugu audience.
All three actresses have already crossed the threshold into Tollywood. The bigger question is who among them can turn these opportunities into a lasting place in the Telugu film industry.
