Ramayana Leads the Festive Diwali 2026 Box Office Clash

Diwali 2026 is shaping up to be a busy period for South Indian cinema, with several films targeting audiences across different languages. Ramayana, Mookuthi Amman 2 (MahaShakthi) and Suriya’s Scene are among the titles drawing attention, while competition for screens is expected to increase.

Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash headline Ramayana, which is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 5. With its pan India release plans, the film could seek a large share of screens across the southern states. Its opening response may affect the number of shows available for smaller regional films.

In Kollywood, Suriya’s Scene and Nayanthara’s Mookuthi Amman 2 (MahaShakthi) are scheduled for November 6. Scene is directed by Jithu Madhavan and also features Nazriya Nazim, while Sundar C directs MahaShakthi, with music by Hiphop Tamizha. Both films will compete for audience attention during the festive period.

Coming to Tollywood, Venkatesh and Trivikram’s Aadarsha Kutumbam is scheduled for October 30, while films such as Summer Holidays and Itlu Arjuna are also seeking audiences in November first week. Kiran Abbavaram’s Hatah adds to the lineup, while Jailer 2 may continue its theatrical run. Screen availability and audience word of mouth could shape the festive box office results.
