Ramayana Sells Over 86,000 Tickets In 24 Hours

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part 1 has started its advance booking run with a strong response. The Ranbir Kapoor and Yash starrer sold over 86,000 tickets in India within its first 24 hours, collecting nearly ₹5 crore in advance sales, including blocked seats.
Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi appears as Sita, Yash takes on the role of Ravana, and Sunny Deol plays Hanuman. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 5, 2026, in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The second part is planned for Diwali 2027.
The early numbers show strong interest, but Ramayana is still behind established advance booking records. The opening day advance sales above ₹100 crore for Baahubali 2, over ₹80 crore for KGF: Chapter 2, and more than ₹58 crore for RRR. Kalki 2898 AD also crossed ₹50 crore in opening day advance sales. While Pushpa 2 and Dhurandhar 2 advance booking sales are much higher but they opened advance booking just before it's release day.
Ramayana’s ₹5 crore figure covers early bookings, not its final opening day total. Limited theatre availability and reported revenue sharing disagreements may also affect sales. Ramayana has a long booking window left, With 15 days remaining, bookings could grow sharply. Its scale, star cast and pan India release give it major box office potential, but it is too early to say whether it can beat the record holding films.
