NHRC Sends Notices To Cops Over Sandhya Theatre Stampede

Nhrc sends notices to cops over Sandhya Theatre stampede. The Sandhya theatre stampede during the Pushpa The Rule premier and the tragic demise of a woman and the subsequent arrest of Allu Arjun sent shock waves across the nation. While Allu Arjun is on interim bail, police are opposing his regular bail plea and the political slugfest over the issue is going on.

In the midst of all this, The National Human Rights Commission (Nhrc) stepped in and gave a shock to the Telangana cops by ordering probe over the police excesses and the lathi charge on that particular day. Nhrc sent notices to DGP and Hyderabad Police Commissioner giving them four weeks time to asking them to submit a detailed action taken report (ATR) over the incident.

Nhrc took action based on the complaint filed with the commission by advocate Rama Rao Immaneni. The notice demands the ATR on the lathi-charge by “erring police officials” on the day of the stampede on December 4.
