Tamil Nadu BJP vice-president Narayanan Thirupathy strongly condemned the attack, alleging the involvement of “Islamic fundamentalist organizations” such as the SDPI, MNMK, and Thouheed Jamath. Thirupathy claimed these groups had previously protested against the film, a biopic about Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his valor.

The organizations reportedly opposed the film for its depiction of terrorist activities in Kashmir, which they argued unfairly portrayed Muslims, despite the inclusion of scenes showcasing Muslim patriotism. Thirupathy suggested on social media that the groups, frustrated by the film’s success and the failure of their protests to deter audiences, resorted to violence.

### **Ongoing Investigation**

The police have launched an investigation into the attack. Security measures are expected to be tightened at theaters screening *Amaran* to prevent further incidents. The attack has sparked outrage among fans and political leaders, with calls for stringent action against those responsible.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by filmmakers tackling sensitive subjects, even when attempting to strike a balanced narrative. As the investigation progresses, the incident underscores the need for dialogue and understanding to address controversies surrounding artistic expression.
