Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, currently imprisoned in Tihar Jail, has made a shocking offer to buy a 50-70% stake in Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, a renowned Bollywood film studio behind hits like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Raazi. Despite being behind bars, Sukesh sent a 'Letter of Intent' through Anantam Legal, proposing a "no-negotiation" deal to be completed within 48 hours.
Sukesh's letter expressed his desire to invest in Dharma Productions through his company, LS Holdings, citing his financial advisor's information that the production house was seeking investment. He acknowledged his reputation might raise concerns but claimed his offer was genuine. The letter also praised Karan Johar, describing him as a "wonderful human," and mentioned Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez, calling her the "love of his life".
However, it appears Sukesh's offer may not be the only one on the table. Adar Poonawalla, CEO of the Serum Institute of India, is reportedly set to acquire a 50% stake in Dharma Productions for Rs 1000 crore through Serene Productions. Notably, Karan Johar will retain the remaining stake and continue as Executive Chairman.
Dharma Productions, founded by Yash Johar in 1976, is an iconic film studio known for producing blockbuster hits. The development involving Sukesh Chandrashekhar and Adar Poonawalla's potential investments has sparked interest in the Bollywood industry.
