During a press meet, Leone addressed a question about her participation in "item songs," a topic that often sparks debate regarding objectification.

Sunny Leone countered the suggestion of objectification, stating that the term is primarily used by the media and not by the audience. She emphasized the enjoyment factor, pointing out that many viewers attend movies specifically for these songs, citing the example of a video she saw of people in Kerala dancing to her numbers.

"Thousands of people come to theatres to watch movies because of these songs," Leone said, adding, "We are now coming out of that generation but there was a time when people, I remember people in Kerala dancing on stage."

Sunny Leone asserted that "item songs" should be viewed as entertainment and enjoyment, rather than objectification, warning that continued use of the term could lead to job losses within the industry. She emphasized the need for collaboration to ensure the thriving of cinema.

Sunny Leone has a busy schedule ahead, with roles in several upcoming films, including "Rangeela" and "Shero" in Malayalam, "Veeramadevi" and "Quotation Gang Part 1" in Tamil, "UI" in Kannada, and "Koka Kola" and "Helen" in Hindi. She also features in a special number in "The Battle of Bhima Koregaon."

"Petta Rap," directed by SJ Sinu, features Vivek Prasanna, Bagavathi Perumal, and Kalabhavan Shajohn alongside Prabhu Deva and Vedhika. The film, which takes its name from Prabhu Deva's iconic song in the 1994 film "Kadhalan," tells the story of a man and a woman aspiring to become an action hero and a pop singer, respectively.

Director Sinu explained the decision to cast Prabhu Deva for the role due to the film's heavy reliance on dance sequences. "We didn’t think it would be easy to find an actor in Kerala who could be a part of a complete dance musical, so we roped in Prabhu Deva," he revealed.

The press meet provided a platform for Sunny Leone to voice her perspective on "item songs" and their role in entertainment. It also highlighted the significance of dance in "Petta Rap" and the creative choices made to bring the film to life.
