TS government acts tough, demolishing Nagarjuna N Convention.Hyderabad's HYDRA Takes Down Nagarjuna's N Convention Center Amidst Encroachment Controversy.

In a significant move, Hyderabad's Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA) has initiated the demolition of the N Convention Center, owned by renowned actor Nagarjuna, amidst allegations of encroachment on a protected water body. The demolition, carried out with heavy machinery and police presence, comes after years of complaints regarding the center's construction on the Tummidi Kunta pond.

The N Convention Center, a luxurious venue located in Madhapur, has faced criticism since its inception, with accusations of encroaching upon the pond dating back to the Rajasekhar Reddy regime. Environmentalists have consistently raised concerns, but their efforts to halt the center's operations had been unsuccessful until now.

HYDRA, established by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, aims to protect government assets, including water bodies, and respond to disasters. The agency has taken a proactive stance on this issue, sending notices to the owner prior to the demolition. The center's road access was closed off during the operation, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

HYDRA's mandate extends beyond the N Convention Center demolition. The organization, with its governing body comprising key officials from various departments, has a wide range of responsibilities. These include disaster response, traffic control, and the protection of public assets across Hyderabad and surrounding districts.

The demolition of the N Convention Center signifies HYDRA's commitment to enforcing environmental regulations and protecting public resources. It serves as a stark reminder that even influential figures are not exempt from accountability when it comes to illegal land use and encroachment.
