Rajinikanth Coolie Has Already Moved To Its Second Schedule

The upcoming action film Coolie marks the first onscreen collaboration of Rajinikanth and hitmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film, produced by Sun Pictures, will see Rajinikanth playing a grey-shaded character. The actor-director duo began filming last month and are expected to wrap up the current schedule soon. Following this, they will move on to the next schedule.

Coolie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and is scheduled to release worldwide in 2025 in standard and IMAX formats ¹. The film also stars Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, and Mahendran. The music and background score are composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who has previously worked with Rajinikanth on films like Petta and Darbar.

Rajinikanth will be seen sporting a salt-and-pepper shaded hairstyle and beard in the film, reminiscent of his look in Kaala ¹. The film's teaser trailer was released on April 22, 2024, and features a sample of "Vaa Vaa Pakkam Vaa," a song from the 1983 film Thanga Magan, also starring Rajinikanth.

The digital streaming rights for Coolie have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video, and the satellite rights by Sun TV ¹. The film is also scheduled to release with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada languages. With its talented cast and crew, Coolie is expected to be a thrilling ride for audiences worldwide.
