Speaking to scribes, Junaid shared his journey into production. Having assisted on sets during "PK" and ad shoots, he felt ready to step into a more prominent role after the completion of AKP's "Maharaj". He explained, "Dad even joked about it, saying, ‘I’m retiring, why don’t you take over?’ That’s when I stepped in."

Junaid, who possesses a strong bond with his parents, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta, also shared their reactions to his debut as a producer. "They weren't anxious; they were happy for me," he shared, emphasizing their calm and supportive nature. He added, "Dad liked it a lot—he’s an easy audience who goes in wanting to enjoy what he sees."

Junaid's first production under AKP is "Pritam Pyaare," highlighting his commitment to the family legacy.

"Maharaj", a Historical Drama:

Junaid's debut film as a producer, "Maharaj", is a historical drama set in 1800s Bombay. Inspired by Saurabh Shah's book and true events, the film tells the story of Karsandas Mulji, a courageous journalist and social reformer. Junaid plays the role of Mulji, who confronts a powerful priest, the "maharaj," played by Jaideep Ahlawat, accused of exploiting female devotees.
