He emphasized that there's no need for animosity between the two legendary actors, stating that "Do not think that there was any clash or fight as even a fight alone makes them both very uncomfortable. I wonder why fans are so mad."

Raja appealed for fans to respect both actors, stating that "There should be a limit you know. That’s everybody’s respect and dignity."

The rivalry between Rajinikanth and Vijay fans escalated last year when Rajinikanth's comments about a crow and an eagle, during the audio release of Jailer, were interpreted by some fans as a subtle jibe at Vijay. Rajinikanth swiftly clarified his friendship with Vijay and denied any conflict, expressing disappointment over fans who perceived a rivalry.

Gnanavel Raja's upcoming projects include the highly anticipated Kanguva: A Mighty Valiant Saga, starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Jagapathi Babu and Yogi Babu. Directed by Siva (of Vedalam and Veeram fame), the film is reportedly a 300 crore INR production currently in post-production.

Kanguva is scheduled for release on October 10, 2024, during the Dussehra festival, clashing with another major release, Vettaiyan, starring Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of both films, hoping they will bring honor to Tamil cinema.
