Bharateeyudu 2 undergoes scissors cut. Shankar's long-awaited sequel to 1996's "Indian" has finally hit theaters, but the film has received a mixed reception. While "Indian 2" enjoyed a grand release and heavy promotional efforts, audiences and critics alike have delivered a mixed verdict.

Now, in an unexpected move, the Telugu version, "Bharateeyudu 2," has been trimmed by a whopping 20 minutes starting from July 13th. Film industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai revealed this news on X (formerly Twitter), suggesting the decision was made in response to the less-than-favorable feedback.

It remains to be seen whether the makers will implement similar cuts for the other language versions of the film. The original "Indian" featured Kamal Haasan in a double role as Senapathy, a former freedom fighter turned vigilante, fighting against corruption. The film also starred Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar. "Indian 2" sees Senapathy return to tackle the same issues, with a new cast including Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, and Brahmanandam.

This trimming of "Bharateeyudu 2" raises questions about the future of "Indian 2" across its various releases. Will the audience's response ultimately influence further edits? Only time will tell.
