Vijay Sethupathi's recently released film Maharaja has crossed Rs 100 crores at the worldwide box office. The crime revenge drama film was directed by Nithilan Saminathan. Passion Studios which is bankrolling the film took to their social media handles and wrote, "Majestic glory for Maharaja with 100+ crores worldwide at the box office."

Maharaja marks the 50th film of Vijay Sethupathi. Nithilan also wrote the dialogues for the film alongside Raam Murali. Maharaja also stars Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Natty Natraj in pivotal roles alongside Abhirami, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Boys Manikandan, Singam Puli, Bharathiraja, Kalki, Vinod Sagar, and Sachana Namidass.

Maharaja is a whodunit, and strangely enough, it’s also a whats-been-done. The story is hardly new, but the value is in the screenplay that masks the story simplicity in a deliberately complex design. Maharaja impressed audiences with its arresting screenplay.

Maharaja is produced by Sudhan Sundaram through his Passion Studios banner and Jagadish Palanisamy under his banner, The Route. It has cinematography by Dinesh Purushothaman, music by B Ajaneesh Loknath, and editing by Philomin Raj.
