Janhvi Kapoor Reveals Mr & Mrs Mahi Based On Ideology Of MS Dhoni

Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao are all set to grace the silver screen with Mr. & Mrs. Mahi which will hit the theatres on May 31. Speaking about the plotline of the film and whether it has any connection to cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Janhvi Kapoor said that the film is based on the ideology of Dhoni, that is to believe in the process without worrying about the final result.

Janhvi was asked in a promotional event that if the film is based on the life of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni because of the similarity in names. Janhvi Kapoor replied that the film is not based on his life but feels very fortunate that Dhoni let the makers use his name. The actress added that even though the film is not based on the life of the cricketer, the philosophy of the film is very similar to the ideology of Dhoni, who believes in trusting the process.

Janhvi revealed that director Sharan Sharma showed them a couple of videos of the cricketer talking and the moral of their film is very similar to that of Dhoni - enjoying the process without thinking too much about the result. This is the second time Janhvi has worked with director Sharan Sharma after collaborating with him on Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.

Janhvi revealed that Sharan narrated the concept of the film on the sets of Gunjan and she instantly agreed to do it. Helmed by Sharan Sharma and backed by Dharma Productions, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi stars Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. The film showcases the love story of a young couple who are obsessed with cricket.
