Shruti Haasan Started Filming For Chennai Story

Actor and singer Shruti Haasan has started shooting for her next film which happens to be an international film, titled Chennai Story. The film is helmed by BAFTA-nominated director Philip John. Chennai Story marks Shruti's third international outing. She has previously acted in the American TV series Treadstone (2019) as Nira Patel, which is based on the Bourne film series. She has also worked in the British psychological thriller film The Eye (2023).

On Monday, Shruti took to her Instagram stories and shared glimpses from the sets of the film and the mahurat shot. The actor also shared a video of herself enroute to the set in her car. Shruti shared the video with the caption: “New day. New movie. New energy. Thankful.”

The film, adapted from Timeri N. Murari's bestseller The Arrangements of Love, is set against the backdrop of Chennai. It unfolds a coming-of-age romantic comedy set, where Shruti takes on the pivotal role of Anu, a spunky private detective.

Recently, Shruti had collaborated with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the music video Inimel. Composed and Conceptualised by Shruti Haasan, the song has lyrics penned by Kamal Haasan. On the big screen, Shruti was last seen with Prabhas in Prashanth Neel's Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.
