Vikrant Massey - Raashii Khanna To Headline The Sabarmati Report

Actor Vikrant Massey, who was recently seen in 12th Fail, and shot to fame will be part of an upcoming film titled The Sabarmati Report. Produced by Ektaa Kapoor, the film will be directed by Ranjan Chandel (Bamfaad, 2020; Grahan, 2021). It will also feature Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra in key roles.

The film is based on the 2002 real-life incident where a mob allegedly set fire to several bogies of the Sabarmati Express in Gujarat’s Godhra. The train was returning from Ayodhya with several Hindu devotees and karsevaks on board. The incident led to the subsequent 2002 Gujarat riots.

The makers announced the new project with a video on Instagram. "Get ready to unfold the history with an untold story - The Sabarmati Report - a riveting journey into the 2002 incident that left an indelible mark on the entire nation! In cinemas on 3rd May 2024," read the caption.

Vikrant was last seen in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail. The film, also starring Medha Shankar, turned out to be a surprise box office success and was also received well by the critics. The film which is currently available on Disney Plus Hotstar has been a smash hit in OTT.
