Suriya in different avatars in Kanguva second poster. The highly anticipated second look of Suriya's "Kanguva," directed by Siva, has been unveiled. The poster showcases Suriya in two distinct looks—one as a warrior and the other as a man in the present time. This hints at a storyline that traverses multiple time periods.

Sharing the poster, Studio Green expressed, "A Destiny Stronger Than Time. The past, present, and future. All echo one name: Kanguva."

A few days ago, Suriya shared his thoughts after completing the shooting for his portions in the film. He wrote on X, "My last shot done for Kanguva! An entire unit filled with positivity! It’s the finishing of one and the beginning of many..! Thank you dearest director Siva and team for all the memories! Kanguva is huge and special can’t wait for you all to see it on screen!"

The film's shooting spanned over a year and faced a temporary halt when Suriya sustained an injury on set. Earlier glimpses and posters were released in 2023, building anticipation for the movie.

Mounted as a high-budget film, "Kanguva" features Disha Patani as the female lead, making her debut in Tamil cinema. Director Siva shared in an earlier interview with CE, "The film is set 1500 years ago and uses elements from ancient Tamil culture as well as other cultures from all over India. Kanguva is a fictional story set in an imaginary world with strong historical references and facts."

Cinematography is handled by Siva's frequent collaborator, Vetri Palanisamy, with production design by Milan and editing by Nishad Yusuf. Backed by Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green and UV Creations, "Kanguva" is expected to release in early 2024, although there's no official announcement from the team. The film marks Suriya's 42nd outing, featuring action sequences choreographed by Supreme Sundar and co-written by Narayana. Dialogues are penned by Madhan Karky.
