Dhanush Captain Miller Takes Lead In Latest Tamil Releases

On 12th January, Kollywood witnessed three releases, Dhanush's periodic action drama 'Captain Miller' , SivaKarthikeyan's sci-fi entertainer 'Ayalaan' and Vijay Sethupathi, Katrina Kaif starrer Hindi, Tamil film, 'Merry Christmas'. Among the three Dhanush's Captain Miller Takes the lead and registered Highest opening. Dhanush's fans turned up in large numbers to watch the action drama. The film garnered positive reviews from critics and audiences. 

'Captain Miller' has raked in Rs 11+ crore in India. It managed to garner Rs 4+ Crores in overseas taking the total to Rs 15+ Crores worldwide. This is one of the highest opener in Dhanush's career too. The film was made with a budget of Rs 40+ Crores is expected to earn profits with the huge advantage of pongal holidays and positive word of mouth.

Meanwhile, 'Captain Miller' encountered direct competition from another Tamil release, Sivakarthikeyan's sci-fi adventure, 'Ayalaan'. Nonetheless, Dhanush emerged victorious in the clash. According to trade reports, 'Ayalaan' opened at Rs 4 crore. Vijay Sethupathi's 'Merry Christmas' registered minimal collections only as it is seen like a Hindi film.

Directed by Arun Matheswaran, 'Captain Miller' features Dhanush and Priyanka Arul Mohan in lead roles. Actors such as Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan and John Kokken play pivotal roles in the movie as well. The music has been scored by GV Prakash. 'Captain Miller' stars Dhanush in the titular role and is set in the pre-independence era.
