Mahesh Babu Guntur Kaaram Grossed 94 Crores On Its First Day

Superstar Mahesh Babu's much-anticipated 'Guntur Kaaram' released in theatres on Friday, January 12. Despite mixed reviews, the film has taken a flying start at the boxoffice. Helmed by Trivikram Srinivas, 'Guntur Kaaram' is an action oriented family drama laced with mother, son sentiment. 

Guntur Kaaram marks the highest opener in Mahesh Babu's career. The film has grossed Rs 94 crores worldwide. As expected, the bigger chunk of the collection comes from Mahesh Babu’s home turf Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film also rakes in $ 2 Million at Mahesh's strong zone, Overseas market. 

'Guntur Kaaram', is the highest opener for a regional film which is released in a single language. The film has garnered close to Rs 40 Crores share in both Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film rakes in a global share of Rs 52+ Crores on its first day. To emerge as a clean Hit the film needs to earn Rs 130 Crores share in its full run. 

Trivikram joined Mahesh for the third time for Guntur Kaaram after Athadu and Khaleja. Guntur Kaaram also stars Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Jayaram, Prakashraj, and Sunil. Produced by S Radha Krishna under the banner of Haarika and Hassine Creations.
