Akshay Kumar About The Issue Between India And Maldives

The relationship between Maldives and India was deeply affected recently when the Minister of the beachy country made some unfavourable and offensive remarks about Indian beaches and Indian tourism. While many Indian citizens decided to react to it and lashed out at the minister for making such comments against a country and its citizens, many Bollywood celebrities have also come in support of their country. 

It is well known that Maldives and Indian political and diplomatic relations has been witnessing a strain of sorts after a change in the government. Adding to it, where a few comments made by a certain Maldivian Minister not only about India but also its tourism which has not gone down well with the country and its government. Although the Maldivian government has issued a statement clarifying that these remarks represent a personal opinion and not a political one against India, citizens continue to lash out at Maldivians on social media, especially against the ones who are making comments about Indian hygiene and the conservation of their beaches.

Among them was Akshay Kumar, who also reposted a few derogatory comments made about India and compared the country to Maldives tourism, as he added, “Came across comments from prominent public figures from Maldives passing hateful and racist comments on Indians. Surprised that they are doing this to a country that sends them the maximum number of tourists. We are good to our neighbors but why should we tolerate such unprovoked hate? I've visited the Maldives many times and always praised it, but dignity first. Let us decide to #ExploreIndianIslands and support our own tourism.”
