Reflecting on this at the event, Vijay shared, "It was heartbreaking for me and the Super Deluxe team. I was shattered, but it's a part of the politics in the industry. We are aware that something happened. It's not about me being in the film; even if I weren't part of it, I would have wanted the film to be selected. Something occurred in the process, and I prefer not to delve into it. It's unnecessary."

Super Deluxe, directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, boasted a stellar cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin, Mirnalini Ravi, and others. Vijay's segment, titled Shilpa's Story, portrayed a parent's journey to reconnect with her son and family after a gender-affirming surgery. Alongside Vijay, Ashwanth Ashokkumar received acclaim for his role as the son, Rasukutty. Vijay Sethupathi also earned the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for his outstanding performance in the film.
