Music Director Harris Jayaraj rose to fame quickly in both Tamil and Telugu film industries. Harris's father SM Jayakumar was a noted film guitarist. He studied music at famous London Trinity Music College. He has worked with top music directors AR Rahman, Raj Koti, Mani Sharma, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Vidyasagar. He worked as an additional programmer for AR Rahman and composed music for various commercials.
Harris made his debut as music director with Gautam Menon's first film Minnale / Cheli. It became a huge musical hit. Harris Jayaraj debuted into Telugu films with Venkatesh starrer Vasu. Irrespective of film's result, the audio became superhit and those songs are played still today. He has became a regular for Gautham Menon's films. Their combination delivered several memorable chartbuster music albums like Kaakka Kaakka / Gharshana. Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu / Raghavan, Vaaranam Aayiram / Suriya S/O Krishnan.
Harris composed music for Mahesh Babu's Sainikudu and Prabhas's Munna resulting both as musical hits. He became a sensation with his music in dubbed films, Aparichitudu, Ghajini, Veedokkade. Again in 2010 he composed music for straight Telugu film Orange starring Ram Charan. The album became a cult hit and is an all-time favorite album for many till date.
Harris Jayaraj never failed as a music director especially in Telugu. He has always composed superhit albums irrespective of film's end results. His melody songs are earworms. He is now composing music for Naga Sharya's new film.
