Prashanth Neel Shocker About Salaar

Salaar: Mix of Ugramm and KGF. Ever since the core plot of Prashanth Neel's "Salaar" was revealed, fans expressed concerns that the director might be recreating his 2014 Kannada film "Ugramm" in Telugu. Despite initial dismissals of these speculations by the makers, including producer Vijay Kiragandur, a recent statement by Prashanth Neel to Cinema Express has left fans perplexed.

Contrary to earlier assertions, Prashanth Neel confirmed that "Salaar" is indeed an adaptation of his 2014 film "Ugramm." He shared, “I always envisioned the audience watching 'Ugramm' in a packed theatre; it wasn’t fulfilled during its release. The film was pirated within 20 days of release. Despite 'KGF’s' success, I couldn’t move forward without doing justice to that story.”

He went on to describe "Salaar" as a fusion of "Ugramm’s" narrative with the filmmaking style of "KGF." He added, “I don’t see it as a remake though. I’ve made changes for it to suit Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Some might criticize that it’s a mix of 'Ugramm’s' story and 'KGF’s' style of making, but I will take it as a compliment as both are my films.”

This revelation has left fans divided, with some expressing confusion and disappointment. While some fans denied the possibility of "Salaar" being a remake of "Ugramm," others expressed bewilderment at the director's apparent contradiction, especially after his recent statement about not linking "KGF" to "Salaar" out of respect for Prabhas.

The fans' reactions reflect a mix of emotions, ranging from questioning the director's decision to adapting "Ugramm's" backdrop for "Salaar" to expressing disappointment over the perceived contradiction in Prashanth Neel's statements. The diverse responses highlight the complexity of managing expectations and perceptions in the filmmaking process.
