Amidst speculations that Marvel is trying to bring him back as Iron Man, Marvel's President Kevin Fiege confirmed that he will not be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Kevin Feige talked about Tony Stark's final emotional moments and said, "We are going to keep that moment and not touch that moment again. We all worked very hard for many years to get to that, and we would never want to magically undo it in any way.”
Robert Downey Jr. gained global recognition for starring as Tony Stark/Iron Man in ten films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with Iron Man (2008) and up till Avengers: Endgame (2019). Earlier this year, Iron Man director Jon Favreau had revealed that the actor was interested in playing a different character altogether.
