IMDB reports: Leo and Jailer emerges as the top rated films from South India in the year of 2023

Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo and Indian Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Jailer are the only two Tamil films in the list of the most popular Indian films of 2023 by IMDB. Reportedly, the platform has listed SRK – Atlee’s Jawan as the most popular Indian film of the year, while SRK’s Pathaan has taken the second spot. 

Leo being Tamil cinema’s highest grosser of the year 2023 with over 620 crores to its name, is the only Tamil film in the top five, while Jailer is also a part of the top ten list. Both films turned out to be the top two highest grossing films of the year for Tamil cinema.

While Jailer was directed by Nelson dilip kumar, Leo was helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Trisha is the female lead in Leo which also has Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt and Action hero Arjun in the antagonist roles. Rajinikanth's Jailer prominently focuses on the heroism and Rajinikanth's mannerisms. Interestingly, both the film's had its music composed by Anirudh.
