A few Indian and foreign titles are slated to be released this week on Indian OTT platforms. And the list also includes a show called ‘Shehar Lakhot’, which is set to start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 30th November onwards.
Reportedly, the eight-part neo-noir crime thriller web series revolves around a man (Priyanshu Painyuli), who returns to his marble mining hometown named Lakhot where he gets embroiled in a deadly game.
Other aspects include, if there is a really good, solid reason for why you should look forward to watching ‘Shehar Lakhot’ on the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform is the man behind the camera.
The series has been directed and c-written by Navdeep Singh, who held the directorial reins for the widely acclaimed 2007 mystery thriller movie ‘Manorama: Six Feet Under’ starring Abhay Deol. Later, he went on to direct the gritty and well-crafted thriller ‘NH 10’ featuring Anushka Sharma in the lead role. Moreover, he had also helmed the criminally underrated Saif Ali Khan starrer period action-drama movie ‘Laal Kaptaan’ a few years back.
Considering Navdeep Singh’s directorial filmography, it is safe to assume that the interestingly titled Amazon Prime Video series ‘Shehar Lakhot’ is in safe hands and should be looked forward to. Besides ‘Mirzapur’ actor Priyanshu Painyuli in the lead role, ‘Shehar Lakhot’ also features Chandan Roy Sanyal, Kubbra Sait, Manu Rishi Chadha in prominent roles.
