Aamir Khan Productions is backing Kiran Rao's directorial venture, marking her return after more than a decade since her acclaimed debut with "Dhobi Ghat." 

The film, set to release in cinemas on March 1, 2024, unfolds a comedic drama featuring Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan."Laapataa Ladies" promises a delightful blend of humor, quirky storytelling, and a talented ensemble cast.

The narrative revolves around the amusing chaos that ensues when two young brides accidentally stray from a train, set against the rural backdrop of 2001 India. Jio Studios presents the film, produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande under Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions, respectively.

Based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami, the screenplay and dialogues are crafted by Sneha Desai, with additional dialogues by Divyanidhi Sharma.
