Back in 2017, director Vinoth announced a sequel to the immensely successful film "Khakhee," a pivotal success in Karthi's career. The film delves into the real-life ‘Operation Bawaria’ mission that transpired between 1995-2006, focusing on the Tamil Nadu Police. It garnered widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics alike.

Recent reports from sources within the Kollywood industry affirm that director H Vinoth is actively planning the sequel. While currently engaged in a project with Kamal Haasan, Vinod has expressed his intent to commence work on "Khakhee 2" once his present undertaking is concluded.

The script for the sequel is said to be ready, and Vinoth intends to finalize it following the completion of his film with Kamal Haasan. Notably, the director's recent collaboration with Ajith in "Valimai" has also been a resounding success.

Considering these developments, there is speculation that Karthi might embark on "Khakhee 2" before the commencement of "Khaidi 2." Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who recently garnered acclaim for Vijay's "LEO," "Khaidi 2" is anticipated to hit the floors. Lokesh, having showcased his directorial prowess, is also set to collaborate with Super Star Rajinikanth in the near future.
