Shah Rukh's character is determined to help his friends reach London by any means necessary.

"Dunki" is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Rajkumar Hirani Films, and Jio Studios and is set to hit Indian theaters on December 22, where it will face off against Prashant Neel's "Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire," starring Prabhas.Shah Rukh Khan shed light on the film's title during an interview at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia in December 2022. He explained that "Dunki" is the Punjabi pronunciation for "donkey" and humorously mentioned that in English, his film could be called "Donkey."
