Balayya realised insult to Tollywood now. Natasimha Balakrishna, the renowned actor and TDP Hindupur MLA, made quite an impact during his recent appearance in the Andhra Pradesh assembly. He displayed a burst of passion and emotion that left everyone in the room surprised. Balakrishna's actions included twirling and twisting his mustache and gesturing animatedly towards YSRCP MLAs, which raised the ire of AP Speaker Tammineni Sitharam. The Speaker issued a stern warning to Balakrishna, although he ultimately escaped with a reprimand, considering it was his first offense.
Subsequently, when speaking to reporters, Balakrishna explained his aggressive reaction by stating that YSRCP leaders, such as Ambati Rambabu, had not only insulted him personally but had also demeaned the entire Telugu film industry, often referred to as Tollywood. He emphasized that he would not tolerate any affront to Tollywood and that he was not the type to remain silent when anyone disparaged the industry.
This incident has prompted people to question why it took Balakrishna so long to recognize the alleged insults by the YSRCP government, Chief Minister Jagan, and his ministers against Tollywood. They wonder where Balakrishna was when CM Jagan slighted a Tollywood delegation led by Mega Star Chiranjeevi or when Jagan specifically targeted Pawan Kalyan and his films.
Some have even suggested that Balakrishna appears to react primarily when he personally faces accusations or attacks, unlike Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi, who came to the industry's defense during contentious issues like ticket rates and theater closures. They argue that this indicates Balakrishna's advocacy is more driven by personal interests rather than the welfare of the entire Tollywood community.
It's worth noting that Pawan Kalyan, in particular, had rallied support for Chandra Babu when he was arrested and had called upon the entire Tollywood to unite against issues like ticket rates and theater closures in Andhra Pradesh. However, according to some observers, many in the industry, including Balakrishna, remained relatively passive, even when films by other actors like Nani were targeted.
