Ramya Krishnan - Actress With Elegance

Ramya Krishnan needs no special introduction. She is completing four decades of acting career in a couple of years. This is a rarity to have such an illustrious career with a long span, especially when it comes to actresses in the Film industry. She is popular actress in five languages, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. She made her debut as an actress with a Tamil film Vellai Manasu in 1985 and in Telugu with Bhale Mithrulu the next year. 

During her beginning days she played supportive roles in Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi films. She got her first break with K Viswanath directorial Suthradharulu starring ANR. The film went on winning National Award earning her recognition. Then her combination with Director K Raghavendra Rao made her a star. Films in their combination, Alludugaru, Allari Mogudu, Allari Priyudu, Major Chandrakanth, Allari Premikudu, and Annamayya earned her stardom.

Ramya Krishnan also earned popularity in Hindi starring in films like Sanjay Dutt's Khalnayak, Shahrukh Khan's Chaahat, Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Ramya Krishna who was a glamorous diva has take a turn and proved her acting abilities from late 90's. Her performance in Kante Kuturne Kanu directed by Dasari Narayana Rao earned her Nandi Award as best actress.

The following year, she delivered memorable performance as antagonist in the iconic role of Neelambari in Rajinikanth starrer Padayappa / Narasimha. Ramya Krishna is also known for playing the role of Goddess Durga, right from her brief appearance in Ammoru she did many such roles in her career. She also did many TV serials and became very popular in small screen too. 

With Baahubali, Ramya Krishnan once again proved how elegant and versatile actor she is in the role of Sivagami Devi. She then played a bold role in Super Deluxe, a lovable role in Nagarjuna's Soggade Chinni Nayana and Bangarraju. She also ventured into OTT platform with Queen web series which is a biopic of Tamil Nadu former chief minister Jayalalitha. She is happily married to director Krishna Vamsy and the couple have a son named Rythwik Krishna.
