Censor asks for cuts for the Leo song. Thalapathy Vijay is all set to grace the big screen with his highly-anticipated movie, "Leo," which is scheduled for release on October 19, with a global theatrical release. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, this action-packed film features music composed by the renowned Anirudh Ravichander.
The movie's first song, titled "Naa Ready," was unveiled on Thalapathy Vijay's birthday, June 22, and quickly gained popularity. However, it also faced criticism, particularly regarding smoking scenes involving Thalapathy Vijay.
As a result of these criticisms and complaints, the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued an order to the film's makers to remove the smoking scenes and lyrics mentioning alcohol from the song. Several complaints, including one from Rajeshwari Priya of Anaithu Makkal Arasiyal Katchi (AMAK), alleged that the song's lyrics were promoting drug trafficking and alcohol. RTI activist Selvam also filed a complaint against the team, accusing them of glorifying drugs and rowdyism in "Naa Ready." This prompted the CBFC to demand changes in the song.
Rajeshwari Priya shared a document containing the official order from the censor board instructing the removal and replacement of specific parts in the song. The document also specifies the duration of the changes required. Alongside the CBFC order, Rajeshwari Priya also posted the response from CBFC following her petition.
"Leo" features an ensemble cast including Thalapathy Vijay, Trisha, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Mathew Thomas, and Mysskin in significant roles. The film will be released in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu languages. The advance bookings for the movie have already begun in the UK and have set a record by collecting 100k pounds within 24 hours, making it the fastest Tamil film to achieve this milestone.
