Boys fared well in the engineering stream while girls outperformed in the medicine category in the Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test-2010 (EAMCET ) conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
Releasing the results at the Academic Staff College Auditorium on the Jntu premises here on Wednesday, Minister for Technical Education and Law Mopidevi Venkata Ramana said 2,80,396 candidates qualified in the engineering category out of 3,16,083 who took the test (88.75 percent).
In the medicine stream 47,936 candidates cleared the test out of 51,186 (93.7 percent).Boyapati Pallavi of Vijayawada has secured first rank in the engineering stream by scoring 159 out of 160 marks. Md. Ghouse Jani of Vizag and Janardhan Reddy of Guntur bagged the second and third ranks respectively.
M. Rahul (156) from Hyderabad bagged the first rank in the medicine stream. Ravinuthala Lalitha from Hyderabad bagged the second rank while Narapaneni Kiranmayi from Vijayawada got the third rank.
The last date for submitting applications for revaluation and scrutiny is June 26. Web counselling will be held in the third or fourth week of July.EAMCET Results 2010 are now available online on official website of EAMCET www.apeamcet.org.
