Movie lovers got shocked when they heard the news of yesteryear beauty Sridevi's death under mysterious circumstances falling into a bath tub in her hotel room in Dubai. Suspicions increased when Dubai police refused to release her body and questioned even her husband Boney Kapoor.
Finally when they released the body after closing the case, people suspected something fishy and some even approached Supreme Court demanding probe into Sridevi's death. Now Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y.Chandrachud after hearing the arguments, rejected the request for a probe into Sridevi's death.
Though Vikas Singh, senior counsel raised suspicion on how a 5.7 ft tall person could get killed drowning into a 5.1ft bath tub, Supreme Court rejected the plea. Vikas Singh even argued that there was life insurance policy worth Rs240crs on Sridevi's name in Oman and it was released only after her death.
