CCTVs at bus stations

Hyderabad, Jan 30: The newly assumed Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation Managing Director B Prasada Rao on Saturday inspected the Jubilee Bus station, Picket and Cantonment bus depots in Secunderabad.Talking to media persons, he expressed satisfaction over the facilities at the bus stations. He also directed the officials to take steps for the hygienic maintenance of buses as thousands of commuters travel by them daily.He said the RTC would install close circuit television (CCTV) cameras at loading and uploading bays to discourage passenger buses from overstaying at the platforms and to check crimes.

“The CCTV will be fitted with timers to ensure that bus drivers do not stay for too long at particular loading and unloading stations, aggravating traffic problems in the main thoroughfare,” he added.He asked the bus drivers to follow traffic rules and regulations to prevent mishaps.The installation of the cameras will ensure better traffic management for the metropolitan congested roadways.
