Schools in W.Godavari closed

Eluru, Dec 15: All Schools in West Godavari district were closed for a week beginning Tuesday in view of the statewide agitation for unified Andhra Pradesh.Schools run by private managements also extended their support voluntarily for the demand for united Andhra Pradesh.Meanwhile,all shops and business establishments have downed their shutters at Palakol extending their solidarity with the agitators demanding united Andhra Pradesh.

Media persons took out a rally from the Information Office to the District Collectorate here where they held a relay fast opposing the proposed bifurcation of the State to facilitate formation of Telangana province.In Narsapuram, the agitators detained Visakhapatnam-bound Simhadri Express.The members of the National Students Union of India formed a human chain on the National Highway at Peddapadu mandalam in Vatluru obstructing traffic for over an hour.The police tightened security at across the district fearing damage to public or private property.
