Hyderabad,Nov 25: The State Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements in all the 24 counting centres where counting of votes polled in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections will take place on Thursday.The counting starts from 8 a.m.in the morning and the results will be declared by 2 p.m in the afternoon. According to SEC special officer M Krishna Babu,security has also been intensified with the deployment of police force at the counting centres to thwart any untoward incident during counting.
In certain sensitive areas Section 144 will be in force as a precautionary measure.The fate of 1310 candidates contesting for the 150 divisions in the city will be known by 2 pm.In view of the low percentage of votes polled,the political parties are keeping their fingers crossed.Meanwhile it is reported that repolling in the two booths of Defence Colony Nos 41 and 42,and booth No 16 of Srinagar Colony went on smoothly.
