NABARD to give Rs 350 crore loan for irrigation projects

Hyderabad,Oct 26: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 350 crore as loan assistance to the Andhra Pradesh Government for irrigation and rural water supply projects.The loan would be utilized for completion of 22 small and medium irrigation projects and 16 lift irrigation projects across 19 districts in the state.The loan has been approved under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) by the Nabards Project Sanction Committee.

The sanction of these projects would facilitate creation or additional irrigational potential and would also provide safe drinking water besides creating non-recurring employment to the rural people.According to officials, the loan would be also utilized for providing amenities in 135 upper primary schools and basic infrastructure facilities for backward villages in the districts.
