Hyderabad,Oct 23: Minister for Higher Education and NRI Affairs in Andhra Pradesh, D Sridhar Babu on Friday appealed to Union External Affairs Minister and Overseas Ministry to adopt stringent rules and regulations to check fake recruiting agents.Speaking at the inaugural function of opening a new office of Protector of Immigrants in Hyderabad, the minister said that the state government is coming up with several measures to protect the interests of the Telugu people working abroad and hold a check on the bogus recruiting agents and middlemen, who are playing with the lives of innocent people.
Referring to the Telugus who are in dire need of financial needs after ending up in the hands of fake recruiting agents, the government is holding consultations with the Insurance companies as it proposed to insure all skilled and semi-skilled workers going abroad. The insurance will also cover the aspects like bringing back the dead bodies of those who lose their lives while working abroad.Elaborating on the welfare schemes,Sridhar Babu said the Government is planning to start a welfare fund to the Telugus working in various parts of the world. To this cause the Government is holding consultations with other Telugu associations in foreign countries and also the prominent Telugus in other countries.
