Veturi wins laurels at Padutha Theeyaga

Padutha Theeyaga enthralled viewers on Mahasivatri with its special show dedicated to Lord Siva and the participants pitched in with devotional songs to suit the event. Anchor SP Balasubrahmanyam was at his best and along with the participants (in dress and content)  and the Chief Guest Tanikela Bharani used the platform to voice his verses on Lord Siva, which were simple and down-to-earth.  His rendering evoked good round of applause.

Selecting songs on Lord Siva, the young singers enthralled the audience from the tastefully decorated stage which has an imposing Sivalingam and a striking Nandi. While the songs of the special edition, not in the competition mould, were taken from old and new films Kiratarjuneeyam from Bhakta Kannappa won the laurels from one and all.

The programme, which is losing its sheen of late, has come to life with this edition and the best part of the episode  was the standing ovation to lyricist Veturi Sundararama Murthy for his sublime and stunning songs, a couple of them picked up by singers for the special occasion.
