The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday decided may seek the High Court directions to register First Information Report (FIR) against YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy to probe into his alleged illegal assets.
According to sources, the CBI joint director Mr. V V Lakshminarayana held a meeting with his counterparts in Tamil Nadu and Karanataka and other senior officials to discuss about filing a FIR against Jaganmohan Reddy. Besides Hyderabad, the CBI may also conduct searches at his offices at Visakhapatnam, Chennai and Bangalore to get information related to his assets.
The meeting of CBI officials has gained more significance in view of Jaganmohan Reddy filing a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court’s order permitting the CBI to probe into his alleged illegal assets.
The CBI is likely to use Dilkusha Guest House as its temporary headquarters in Hyderabad to probe Jagan’s case. It was the same premise that was used to probe the 7,000-Cr Satyam scam involving its founder-chairman Ramalinga Raju.
