Former Kadapa MP Ys Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday said that he would invoke Divine Intervention by praying to the Almighty to give the state government enough sense so that it opens its eyes to the suffering of the students and releases the fee reimbursement arrears.
Addressing a massive convention in Proddatur in Kadapa district on Wednesday, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy said that he would launch a week-long hunger strike so that the government wakes up from its stupor and realize the suffering of the students due to its apathy on releasing the fee arrears.
Alleging the government of playing games with the lives of the students, the former MP said that even the criticism by the Supreme Court was not enough for the government to respond.
He alleged that the government was neglecting the schemes envisaged and launched by former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, which were planned to benefit the poor and the downtrodden.
Mr Jaganmohan Reddy said that he would go on the week-long hunger strike in the state Capital from February 18 so that the government is forced to respond.
Stating that the delay was putting the very careers of the students on the line, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy said, “Through education only, one can eradicate poverty and corruption. Education enables the students to reach their ultimate goals,” he pointed out.
