Rs 1 crore worth heroin seized

HYDERABAD, Sept 17:

  Vinod Kumar of Orissa on his  way  to Indonesia was arrested by authorities on charges of attempting to smuggle Heroin concealed in his  cabin baggage at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here  in the early hours of Thursday.  The contraband, weighing 10 kg, is stated to be worth Rs 1 crore in international market.

Vinod  was  remanded  to judicial custody for  further interrogation. Highly placed sources said Vinod could be a courier in the drug peddling racket. The drug cartel believed that Hyderabad could be the safe route to smuggle out the contraband.

When exporting drug with the help of couriers, there are two different types that are employed, one are the professional couriers and the other are those who do not know they are carrying drugs. It is still not established  to whch category  Vinod  Kumar  falls.
